What kind of a blogger would Shakespeare be?

“…ran out of ink this morning, so aggravating! Aaaarrrrghh! I’ll never finish this play. It’s so frustrating. Went out for a drink last night with Marlowe and he agreed, these royals never pay on time…it’s always “next week, we promise, we’ll pay you next week.” I had to burn one of my folios last night just to stay warm. It was just early stuff I wrote as a teenager so it wasn’t worth anything, but still, it would have been nice to keep them. You know what…forget it. I’m going to write this play for the people, that’ll show them. Or better yet, I’ll make it depressing as all get out. Maybe I’ll have just have Romeo and Juliet both die at the end…”

What do you think? Would Shakespeare still have been a writer today, or would he have been a YouTuber making movies? Can you think of any other classic writers that might be changed by the future? (hey, maybe Bill and Ted were on to something…)

Weigh in dear readers: To blog or not to blog….

  2. Awesome post, Rimas! Great Question! I wonder how literature might have been without Shakespeare's influence and how he would frame his stories now. Emily Dickenson might have said she heard a computer instead of a fly???
